Pumpernickel Bats

I found this idea over on kitchendaily.com. Make grilled-cheese sandwiches using pumpernickel bread and bat cookie-cutters. The pumpernickel bread was fun to use, because it is so dark (like a bat), and plus pumpernickel just sounds Halloweeny, probably because of the "pump-" similar to the -kin variety.

But the beauty of it is you could make any kind of sandwich, with any kind of bread, and any festive cookie cutter!


I didn't know how LM would take to eating pumpernickel bread, but because it was shaped like a bat, he thoroughly enjoyed playing with it, and eating it. Now if only I could get shape brussel sprouts like a bat.......
