Feb. 1 - Game: Heart Hunt!

The first day of our Valentine's Day countdown, we did a game.
We had a Heart Hunt!

I cut out about 20 hearts of different sizes & colors (which we may also use later for other activities...) and I "hid" them all over the house. LM had such a fun time hunting for hearts. His face would light up whenever he saw one! He would even talk about the colors, and sizes all on his own.
After we played a few times, the baby woke up and started crying so I had to go upstairs to get him. I gave the hearts to LM and told him it was his turn to hide them for Mommy.
I didn't know what to expect but I came back downstairs and they were neatly placed all over the living room!

We had so much fun that we just may go heart hunting again tomorrow!

aw that's such a cute idea! You seem to go in for celebrating holidays more in the US than we go here in the UK lol. We don't really celebrate valentines so much but I am still going to do a few heart related activities!
Please check out my blog sometime

My son loves playing "Heart Hunt." He asks to play it as soon as he wakes up and all throughout the day. Such fun!! Thanks so much for sharing.

I did this with 3 year olds at our Mom's Day Out...I cut out red meat trays, into hearts. Numbered each heart 1-10 and taped them up and under and all around our classroom. When anyone found a heart, they were to tape them up on a door, in number order! ( I helped, of course. )
