File-Folder Games: Wrapping Paper

A fun, easy, and inexpensive way to make your own file-folder games is by using Wrapping Paper!

Supplies:
  • File-Folders
  • Wrapping paper - try to find some that has pictures of things you can easily cut out.
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or double-stick tape
Here's what you do:
  1. Figure out what kind of file folder game you want to make with the wrapping paper you have.
  2. Cut out the pictures, glue or tape them on the file folder. Glue or tape the corresponding ones to cardstock.
Here are a few ideas using wrapping paper we had:

Cupcake MATCHING:
(Have the child place the matching cupcake on top of the ones in the file-folder.)

Birthday Dinosaurs DIRECTIONS:
(Have the child place each dinosaur under the direction it is facing, left or right.)

Snowman & Snowflake COUNTING:
(Have the child count as they place the matching snowmen & snowflakes on top of the ones on the file folder.)

Christmas Picture MATCHING:
(Have the child place the matching pictures on top of the ones in the file folder.)

Reindeer PATTERNS:
(Have the child match the patterns in the file folder, OR continue the patterns to the right of the file folder.)
