Pumpkin Treasure Hunt

I made these pumpkins to use for a Treasure Hunt for the boys.
The pumpkins are made from construction paper. I used a green marker to color the stems, black marker for the faces, and blue marker for the numbers.
I used contact paper to "laminate" them and sticky-tack to place them on the walls throughout the house.

The boys started with #1 and searched for each pumpkin going all they way up to 8.
When they got to 8, I had a special surprise hidden for them! :)

The boys LOVED this activity. So we did it over and over--each taking turns to create the hunt and a place prize at the end (a book to read).

Hi Linda, what a great idea for the children at Halloween. Actually, you could just change the theme and make it for any time. Thanks for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

I found this activity at just the right time! I just did a scavenger hunt that I'll be posting on my blog tomorrow (with printable clues) and my boys loved it so much that they want to do another one. I wasn't sure what to do for another scavenger hunt, but now I am definitely going to use your idea. Thanks so much!

This is great! Since my son is older I made it a little harder. I made 5 sets of leaves in 5 different colors. Red I skipped counted by 2, orange by 5's, green by 10's yellow by 100's and brown was money in .25 cent increments. I taped them all over the house and had him figure out the pattern for each color and collect them in order. He's having a great time and get a work out with all the running!

Great idea!
