Halloween Countdown #12 - Cooking

I can't remember where I got this idea from, but it is just so easy and fun it simply had to be done!
Here's how we did it:
  1. Spread some cream cheese on a flour tortilla (or spread on anything you like!)
  2. Roll it up
  3. Cut it so you get small rolls as shown above
  4. Use half of a toothpick and any kind of edible foilage for the stem (we used a few tiny celery leaves, you could use parsley.)
  5. Enjoy!
*And make sure small kids know to take the toothpick out before they eat!

Thanks as always for some fresh ideas when I realize I'm in a lame mom slump :) We made these today only dyed the cream cheese orange and rolled out pieces of bread with the crusts removed. The kids l-o-v-e-d them!

We made these with jalapeno cheddar wraps, green chile dip, and cilantro as the leaves. Yummy!

Thanks so much for the cute idea! I made them today with tomato basil tortillas, cream cheese, shredded cheese and ham and used a piece of celery as the stem and celery leaf at the base. I cut the celery about 3/4 of the stalk lengthwise and then cut the "stems" in about 1/8 inch pieces. They look just like pumpkin stems, larger on the bottom, smaller on the top and curved like the stems do on pumpkins. I am room mother for two elementary school children and we want healthy snacks at the party on Friday so this was just what I was looking for. :)
